Enchanting small hotel with really good and exceptional staff members on the check-in and on the check-out. Modest standard king room with a view, quiet atmosphere. Very central location, not very far from a minor basilica.

The location was very good, 10 minutes walk to the centre of Brugge and the breakfast was a very good buffet of bread, cheese, cereals, eggs. Room was neat and clean, with TV. Staff spoke English.
They had an internet connection in the lobby but it was 3 euro for 30 minutes. Most hotels these days have either Wi-Fi for a small daily charge or a shared free computer in the lobby. This is the age of broadband not dial up!

Get the breakfast with the room. I recommend it. No cooked foods, but the pastries were very good and fresh - eat as much as you want. The earlier you go the better. Once I found a huge pastry with chocolate icing and with chocolate filling and it was like nothing I've ever tried before - truly something to die for. I think the lady owner also served home made cake which I really liked - it was really hard for me to not take another piece (got to watch my weight). Location was good, it was a 10 minute walk (nice walk) from city centre (Markt). Security was very good, closed main door with keycode access. I felt very safe inside and you can go in any time you like. Toilet, sink and shower in good condition. Modern TV - good stations for Belgium (was able to watch woman world cup matche in English). It was very clean - no problems at all here. I recommend for couples or good friends on budget. There were elderly people in the hotel so it is also good for elderly couples.
Bathroom did not have window, but at least had ventilator. Bathroom door had no lock, but it was no problem for me. Room a bit small, but no problem after you get used to it. Note for the elderly or weak: no lift, but it is a small hotel and the staircase is a few steps, maybe 10-15. Decor is gaudy, but it makes you feel at home. I liked the chandelier in the dining room. The owners are not very friendly, but they are not unkind. I think rather they are reserved and conservative - and they may be friendly with a small number of people - those who speak their language and are similar to their age. If you follow the rules, you will have no problems with them. Their daughter (I think she is so) is much more friendlier. Read the notices (e.g. at breakfast time) - i.e. no buns or croissants in toaster cos they'll get stuck and if the lady owner catches you doing it, she may get slightly angry, but she was not angry with me when I made the mistake of putting the bun in it. Don't try to argue with them, because they are correct and they have a large notice next to it saying "bread only - no buns or croissants". You have to ask for WiFi and I believe you can only use in lobby - only real problem for me. I rang the bell for assistance with WiFi, but they did not come at that particular time (I had little time in hotel - but needed to check emails). A woman was using WiFi with netbook in the Lobby, so they do have free internet. Despite this they are not the Faulty Towers as some tourists describe and the price for room is fair. They offer a clean room and their breakfast is excellent. Do not go there expecting 3 star service.

A small quiet hotel in an off the beaten path quaint area with a neighborhood feel but still only a 10 min walk to the city square. Clean and well maintained. Nice bath. Good wireless service. Comfortable beds. The staff is available when requested and are helpful to offer help & suggestions. A good place for peace and quiet after all day of site seeing. I recommend this hotel.
These are not negative comments but information to help one better understand this hotel: 1. our room was on the small side, (but equal to others I have stayed at in this price range), 2. there are few or no facilities or amenities at this hotel.

The location of this hotel was fantastic! It was right in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore all the main attractions. the staff were also very friendly and helpful, providing us with great recommendations for places to visit and eat. the buffet breakfast was a nice touch and provided a good start to the day.
the room we were given was quite small and cramped, making it difficult to move around comfortably.

The room was clean and pretty even if a little bit small, nut enough for staying 2 nights and visiting the amazing city. :-)Breakfast very good.
Some morning an unpleasant smell in the living where we had our breakfast.

Excellent Value
I recently stayed at a charming hotel in a beautiful location. The room was clean and comfortable, and although it only had a bathtub, it didn't bother me as I prefer showers. The breakfast was delicious, with a variety of hot and cold options. The hotel was conveniently close to the main square and had a recommended restaurant nearby. I had a great stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

When I needed something I had to ring at the reception. They are kind, but I felt sorry.
